Find Washington County Release Dates

A Washington County projected release date depends first on the kind of custody and sentence involved. A pretrial detainee may have no fixed date because release turns on bond, a court order, or later case action. A sentenced person may have dates computed from the judgment, custody credit, and supervision rules. To answer “when will they be released,” identify whether the person is held by Washington County or the Pennsylvania prison system. Then read each date by its official label and confirm any estimate with the agency that performs the calculation.

Washington County Release Date Types

“Projected,” “minimum,” “maximum,” and “actual” do not mean the same thing in Pennsylvania. The court imposes the sentence. The custodial agency then computes it from the commitment, lawful credit, and later orders. A projected date is an estimate or operational field, while the actual release is the event that ends that agency's physical custody. The estimated day can change before the gate opens.

Scheduled versus actual: A date shown in a court or corrections record is not proof that release occurred. Confirm the reported custody event with WCCF, PA DOC, or PA SAVIN.

A pretrial detainee has not yet received a sentence to compute. Bond may be posted, a judge may alter bail, charges may be dismissed, or another hold may keep the person confined. A county sentence and a state sentence also follow different record paths. Washington County Correctional Facility handles local custody and some sentences of two years or less. State-sentenced people enter PA DOC's statewide placement and calculation system.

Minimum date
The usual first point when state parole may be considered, not a promised exit.
Maximum date
The outside term imposed by the sentence, subject to lawful sentence computation.
Parole
Conditional community release before the maximum date, with continued legal supervision.
Discharge
The end of the sentence or supervision obligation, distinct from release on parole.

Find Washington County Projected Dates

Start with the sentencing source, not a date calculator. Search the Pennsylvania Unified Judicial System for the Washington County docket and read the judgment, sentence, bail, and custody-credit entries. A case may begin in Magisterial District Court and later proceed under a CP-63 Common Pleas docket. Search both levels when the lower-court and sentencing records need to be connected.

  1. Confirm the person's identity and locate every plausible Washington County criminal docket.
  2. Determine whether the matter is pretrial, county sentenced, or state sentenced.
  3. Read the court's minimum, maximum, credit, and concurrent or consecutive terms exactly as entered.
  4. For county custody, call WCCF at 724-228-6845 about the route available to an authorized person.
  5. For state custody, search both sides of the PA DOC Inmate/Parolee Locator and preserve each field label.
  6. Compare any parole action, detainer, or amended court order before treating a date as current.

The PA DOC locator service description says the tool covers state-sentenced inmates and parolees and updates daily. It excludes people held in county facilities or another state's system. That boundary is crucial in Washington County. A failed DOC search says nothing by itself about a county detainee.

The official service page establishes who belongs in the state locator before a displayed date is interpreted.

Note: A current-custody source can confirm present status, but an older Washington County release may require the docket and sentencing order.

Washington County DOC Date Fields

The Pennsylvania Department of Corrections calls its tool the Inmate/Department Supervised Individual Locator. Select “Inmate Locator” for a person in state prison and “Department Supervised Individual Locator” for a person under state community supervision. An inmate or parole number gives a stronger match than a common name. Use demographic filters only when those facts are known.

Locator fieldHow to read it
Inmate or parole numberPrimary identifier for matching the correct state record.
Current or permanent locationAn SCI points to confinement; a parole office can support community supervision.
Release DatePreserve this exact verified label. DOC does not define it as one universal date type for every record.
Committing countyConnects the state record to the county behind the sentence.
Last updateShows the age of an operational record that can change.

Do not silently rename “Release Date” as minimum, maximum, projected, tentative, or actual. Read the live record together with the sentence. A parole office association supports release from an SCI into community supervision, but it does not establish final discharge. If the person remains associated with an SCI, do not call that person released.

The PA DOC state-prison directory confirms the statewide facility system and shows that no state correctional institution is located in Washington County.

A Washington County state sentence may be served elsewhere, so the statewide locator remains the right correctional source after DOC intake.

Pennsylvania Release Date Computation

Pennsylvania usually uses an indeterminate state sentence. Under 42 Pa.C.S. § 9756, the sentencing court ordinarily states a minimum and a maximum. Subject to statutory exceptions, the minimum may not exceed one-half of the maximum. The minimum usually marks the first parole-eligibility point. It does not open the prison gate. The Pennsylvania Parole Board retains discretion, and release still requires all legal and administrative conditions to be met.

The maximum is the judicial endpoint, subject to lawful computation, aggregation, credit, and recommitment. Credit for time served means custody time credited against the sentence. Concurrent terms run together as the order directs, while consecutive terms run one after another. Aggregation combines sentence terms for computation. Those rules must come from the actual orders and DOC calculation rather than an online estimate.

The official Pennsylvania sentencing text is also captured in the matched release-date image.

Pennsylvania minimum and maximum law for Washington County projected release dates

The statute supports the minimum-and-maximum framework, but it cannot calculate one person's physical release day without the full record.

Note: Reaching a minimum date allows parole consideration in the ordinary model; it does not compel the Board to grant release.

Washington County Good-Time Limits

Pennsylvania has no general rule that every prisoner must serve about 85 percent of every sentence. That shorthand comes from the federal good-conduct framework and should not be imported into a WCCF or PA DOC calculation. Federal good-conduct time under 18 U.S.C. § 3624(b) applies to eligible federal sentences, not ordinary Washington County or Pennsylvania state sentences.

The Recidivism Risk Reduction Incentive framework in 61 Pa.C.S. Chapter 45 can create an alternative minimum for an eligible state prisoner after the court and DOC processes apply. RRRI is not universal good time. It does not guarantee parole. Other prerelease or short-sentence provisions also have their own eligibility rules and discretionary decisions. A general calculator cannot tell whether any program applies to a named person.

For a Washington County sentence, the court order and WCCF computation control. The county publishes no verified good-time table, release-time-of-day policy, or weekend or holiday early-release rule. Another Pennsylvania county's schedule cannot fill that gap. An authorized person should ask WCCF about the applicable computation and inspect the sentence for commitment credit.

Washington County Sentence Computation

A county calculation begins with the signed commitment and sentence, not a general Pennsylvania release chart. Check whether the order gives credit for days already spent in custody. Read each docket when more than one Washington County case exists. One matter may allow release while a second sentence or detainer keeps the person confined. A sentence of time served can explain the legal basis for release, but the WCCF or PA SAVIN event is still needed to support physical departure.

Pretrial custody follows a different track. Bail status, a release order, dismissal, or case disposition may create a path out of WCCF, yet none supplies a projected sentence-expiration date before a sentence exists. The UJS docket documents the court action. WCCF handles its own release processing, and no public county policy states a fixed hour for release after an order. Do not promise same-day departure from the date of a docket entry.

If a state commitment follows, the county date stops being the key question. A SAVIN transfer event can mark the end of WCCF custody, while the state locator may not show the new record until intake and the next daily update. The sentence remains tied to the court order, and PA DOC becomes the agency responsible for the state computation.

Washington County Date Changes

A sound release date lookup records why a date changed instead of assuming an error. Some events alter the sentence calculation. Others prevent physical community release even though one custodian ends its hold. The court, corrections system, and receiving agency each prove a different part of the path.

FactorPossible effect on releaseBest record
Custody creditLawfully credited prior confinement can alter the computation.Sentencing order and DOC computation
Concurrent or consecutive termsChanges whether terms overlap or add together.Court judgment
Parole actionA grant, refusal, rescission, or recommitment changes the path without rewriting the sentence.Board action and DOC record
Detainer or holdAnother agency may take custody instead of community release.Holding and receiving agencies
Judicial amendmentA corrected or later order may change credit or the sentence terms.Updated UJS docket and order
Misconduct consequencesAuthorized consequences may affect program eligibility or timing.Official corrections computation

A detainer is a request or authority that can keep a person held for another case or agency. Recommitment returns a parolee to custody after a violation decision. Neither should be guessed from a date disappearing online. Confirm the record that caused the change.

Verify Washington County Release Dates

For a bond release, the UJS docket may show the bail event while PA SAVIN reports departure from WCCF. Neither source rules out another warrant or docket. A county sentence of time served is established by the Common Pleas order; PA SAVIN or WCCF is the event source for physical departure. County probation after release is separate from the PA DOC supervised-person locator.

For state parole, the CP-63 docket establishes the sentence and commitment. The PA DOC inmate record can identify the institution and its field labeled “Release Date.” After parole, the supervised-individual side may show the parole number, release date, and current office. A favorable Board action is not the actual release event because prerequisites and DOC processing can remain.

A WCCF transfer to state prison is also not community release. PA SAVIN may report the county custody change before the PA DOC locator finishes its daily update. If no result appears anywhere, check database scope, spelling, and every plausible docket. Report only that the person was not located in the public tool at the time checked. The Washington County VINE inmate check supplies the pending-event alert route, while the Washington County released-inmate search covers federal and immigration custody changes too.

Note: Every final date should identify its source and access time because court, correctional, parole, and custody-event records answer different questions.
